The Buildhub CoreFill Void-Filling Grout Cement is a precisely engineered non-shrink cementitious grout formulated for the critical applications where void-filling and bearing surface preparation must combine high compressive strength with absolute dimensional stability. In machine baseplate grouting, structural steel column baseplate bedding, anchor bolt and holding-down bolt grouting, and bridge bearing pad installation, the accuracy of load transfer depends on the grout completely filling the void between structural element and substrate without shrinkage gaps developing as the grout dries — a requirement that standard site-mixed grouts containing Portland cement cannot reliably meet.
CoreGrout achieves zero-shrinkage performance through a controlled expansion system that generates a small, calibrated early-age expansion that exactly compensates the drying shrinkage of the Portland cement component of the grout — resulting in a net zero dimensional change at 28 days across the grout volume. This expansion mechanism is activated by a factory-incorporated expansive mineral additive dosed to achieve consistency across batches that site-added expansion additives cannot match.
The grout’s flowability is achieved through a polycarboxylate superplasticiser system that maintains high fluidity at a low water-to-powder ratio, allowing gravity-fed and head-pressure-assisted filling of complex void geometries including those with restricted access. Working time at 20°C is 30-45 minutes from mixing — sufficient for large volume pours without compromising the early strength gain that allows rapid load application.
CoreGrout achieves 20 MPa at 1 day, 35 MPa at 7 days, and 50 MPa at 28 days — strength levels that meet or exceed the structural requirements of all standard steel-to-concrete and concrete-to-concrete grouting applications in accordance with EN 1504 and structural design codes.
