The Buildhub RapidSet Fast-Setting Cement is engineered for situations where time genuinely matters — repair work on live infrastructure, post and bollard installation, emergency structural patching, and any application where a standard cement’s 24 to 48-hour early strength timeline is simply not acceptable. RapidSet achieves 20 MPa compressive strength within just 4 hours of casting and reaches 40 MPa at 24 hours, allowing load return and continued construction activity in a fraction of the time that conventional Portland cement requires.
Formulated using a high alumina clinker blend with accelerating admixtures factory-incorporated at the grinding stage, RapidSet delivers consistent rapid strength gain across the temperature range of 5°C to 35°C — the standard working range for UK and European construction sites. Unlike site-added liquid accelerators which can create variable and unpredictable strength profiles, the factory-incorporated admixture system in RapidSet ensures every batch performs identically regardless of mixing technique or operator.
Key applications include fence post and sign post installation, manhole frame and cover bedding, step and kerb reinstatement, pothole repair mortar, anchor bolt grouting, and underpinning blocks where rapid de-propping is required. The 25kg bag format is specifically designed for the smaller batch work that fast-setting applications typically require, with a resealable inner liner that preserves unused product between sessions.
Buildhub RapidSet meets all requirements of EN 197-1 for its class and is CE marked for use throughout the EU and UK. Site technical data sheets and worked mix design examples are available from Buildhub technical support for all primary application types.
